I meant awetmore showed panning shots above with repeated images behind the subject with SR on, and your panning shots with SR on did not show repeated images.

I wondered why one K10D would produce that effect, and the other not.

I guess it is the shutter speed differences. Yours at 1/50, and his at 1/10 or 1/6 sec.

Over the weekend I shot my first batch of motor racing with the K10D (after moving up from an *istDL) and was getting some undesirable results with SR on. I couldn't work out what was going on at one point, I had SR off, flicked it on for a telephoto portrait shot and forgot to turn it back off, haha.

My results were the same as others, I was tracking a car travelling between 80 and 180km/h from 10 metres (50-110mph from 30ish feet) and getting 5-6 images in the one.
