K7 + 300mm Tak no go

I was disappointed to find that my 300mm m42 won't screw on the K7, and I guess most other digital bodies, with the included tripod mount collar because it fouls the flash.

Does the tripod mount come off or am I outa luck?

I'm not familiar with the lens so I can't comment on that.

But, maybe you could use a teleconverter to clear the protrusion of the flash assembly?

Are there any Allen screws on the collar?

Thanks for the replies. Seems it does come off. Needed to rotate the loose collar until the pin in it holding it captive slipped through a slot milled through the spline on the barrel.

Should have looked harder... sorry.

Next worry is the weight hanging on the camera tripod mount.
