Hi;

i'm on a french forum and a guy asked why his K-7 when just started

Have you got information about that ?

Regards

It's a bit hard for a camera to be closing the diaphragm without the lens, seeing as the diaphragm is physically part of the lens... are you sure you're phrasing your question as you actually intend?

Mistaking the noise of the dust removal for diaphragm closure?

I believe it is normal on start up for the aperture mechanism to move slightly.

Yes, it's some kind of checking procedure at startup.

yes..sorry my phras made a confusion..

With the lens, on the start, we can see the dipah closed very fast and re-open.
Without lens, it' make the same sound, perhaps would be the mecanism of the diaph ?
It's not dust removal, i'm sure ;-)

noise is the sensor shift dust removal feature i believe - think you can turn it off from the menu but by default its activated every time you start the camera

AND the lever for aperture control also moves on startup wich also makes a litle sound. The same sound can be heard when light meetering with the green button, on a manual lens
