Just in case anyone misunderstood.

Pentax is NOT thinking about building this (that I know of).

Just an idea I had that was triggered by one of Ken's (regken) comments in another thread.

I'd LOVE a digital Auto 110. I always thought the Auto 110 was a cool idea, and I know I'm not the only one!

They could call it the "one third" format!

I don't think I'd buy a DSLR thát small...what I would like to see is a smaller camera, kinda like the Olympus E-410, but then even flatter and more symmetrical.

Youknow, kinda like the old K1000...would be awesome as a travel cam. Wouldn't even mind a 2X crop sensor...

I'm new to SLRs in general, but I have to agree with TDN on this.
Olympus made a great move in size, cost, etc... for many people.
It "does the job" for what most people want in a smaller dSLR.

As far as Pentax, I know it's all wishes, but they ain't going to even bother.
Trying to go after too many things (including Point'n Shoot) is what got them into trouble in the first place.
Volume is what matters, of which, the K100D and K10D have solved extremely well in the last 6 months.

It will be "modular photographic system" capable of accepting wide range of SLR and RF lenses (using appropriate converters) and will be based on the 4/3 sensor with no LCD. External LCD could be attached to change rarely used settings on the go and shoot video (with the mirror locked up). Size of the body will be roughly the same as Pentax auto 110.

While it isn't Pentax successor to the 110 series, it sounds pretty promising.
