Lenses that work with K-7's corrections Q

With my FA 43 f/1.9 on my K-7, you cannot enable distortion correction and chromatic aberration correction, also I'm not sure if it limits anything else.

So I have a bit of a question, what kind of lenses do and do not work with the K-7's distortion and chromatic aberration correction software? Is it full frame lenses, what is it exactly? Also will third party lenses work with the K-7's corrections?

Not compatible with 3-rd party lenses. From Pentax Imaging:
A Lens Correction function adjusts for Distortion and Lateral Chromatic Aberrations, allowing you to maximize your image quality for every digital lens.*

"*Compatible with D FA, DA, DA Limited and DA Star lenses. Distortion correction is not applied to the DA 10-17mm Fisheye lens."

I think tamron 17-50 and 70-200 2.8 can use the k-7 features.

I'd like to see a link to some proof, because nothing I've read would agree with that.

Link ? not needed

I just tried with tamron 17-50 2.8 and yes, it uses the k-7 features (distortion and chromatic aberration correction software). Also highlight and shadow.

Don't mean to be a bother, but would you post a photo showing an uncorrected and corrected image? Some people reported that a Sigma lens was recognized but no corrections actually applied. I would think the barrel distortion at 17mm would need some pretty heavy correction.

That's what I've heard, with off-brand digital lenses the camera shows the correction feature, but doesn't actually do any processing.

I think Pentax made a clear statement on it a while back, but I can't find the link.

Distortion and Chromatic Aberration correction only works with DA/DA* and DFA lenses. The feature needs some electronic data from the lens which only these newer lenses have. The feature cannot be supported with FA lenses.
