OK I looked and didn't find this even though it's probably here so here goes.

I have an ist dl2 with all the cables, software etc. I am waiting for delivery of an ist d body only. does it use the same usb cable. if not is ther anyone that supplies them.

Thanks
Mike

You're probably better off buying a card reader. I got one that will do something like 30 different cards for about $20. A new USB cable from pentax will run you $40. Also with a card reader, you're not using the cameras batteries.

I now have 6 usb cables from different cameras, and they are all the same, and never once used with any of my cameras. I use either a card reader or the PC slot in my laptop. I have however used the video cables on a couple cameras to connect to t.v.s.

Like others have said, you will want to use a card reader, for two reasons.

1. you won't be running down your camera batteries.
2. the *ist D USB interface is 1.1 and is very slow.

Try here:

Computer Cables: USB Cables, DVI Cables, FIREWIRE Cables, VGA Cables, SVIDEO Cables. Camera Cables

I got a new cable for my istDS for under $10 shipped. They shipped very fast too!. Their simplistic website had me concerned about the seriousness of their business but I had no issues.

I never use a card reader anymore because I have had too many cards (smartmedia type) ruined by windows trying to write something to them while they were active on the machine. On my old Olys that would make the card unusable and unformattable by the camera.
