Help me decide, white or black K-x

I went to Futureshop and spent an hour playing with the black K-x, Nikon D5000 and Canon T1i. By far, I prefer the K-x

The store did not have the white version and will probably not have it for a while. If I want the white version, I probably have to order online.

So help me decide between white and black version

Is the white version has the same build quality as the black one in terms of plastic quality, texture, etc.

I have a couple of black zoom lenses so I wonder how that combination will look on a white body

Personally I want the white one...
If you want a black one, then buy a white one and trade me for my brand new black one with a 4 year Futureshop warranty, haha
The white looks amazing, but it's all your own opinion in the end.
I believe they're just about the same in everything.
P.S. The black lenses look pretty amazing on the white body.

Personally, I love the look of the white one. But mated with a black lens, it look like the camera was primed, but never painted. Also, I don't know what is the base plastic color of the camera. When you scratch it, do you see black plastic? If you do, that would look nasty as the camera ages and goes through the abuse of everyday use.

I got the black...

I want a non-black one also. Search for "white K-x" on this forum - one use posted some rad looking pics of one with various lenses - beautiful! White was my least favorite option, but I think it's better than the navy now...

Unfortunately, I am hoping to get the kit with the extra 55-300 lens and I don't think I'll be able to in a color

Anyone know if any two-lens kits come in a color?

Given the choice, of course go for the white one.

I can see how this must be a wrenching decision for you: the white one is really very white and the black one, quite the opposite. The obvious question is which one best fits your shooting style and needs. I have yet to see a review which addresses this issue adequately, though.

i bought the white one myself and it is stunning to look at, it is flashy and in your face, and i have gotten many compliments on it, i was going to get the red one, but the store i got mine from showed me the two side by side and by far the white was better looking. as for scratching and wear and tear only time will tell, but i have a k1000 that is over 30 years old and it looks almost new, so just take care of it.

A white K-x couples with a black lens.

Do you own an iPod or iPhone? If you do, then did you get the black or white one?

Choose the color that matches your iPod/iPhone since it already reflects your taste.

All versions of the K-x has the same build quality, materials used, texture, fit and finish. The paint is glossy which makes it easy to wipe clean.
I almost bought the white, but I finally choosed the blue navy instead. Looking cool!
White matches well with black lenses - it has black on the hand grip. Black mactches black.

yeah there are some navy pics floating around if you search the (relatively) recent posts - last day or so.

RMabo - the black model definitely DOESN'T have the same finish as the colored models. It is a more textured plastic finish in-line with previous Pentax cameras. The White is a smooth, not shiny/not dull either, finish - definitely different (edit - I said smooth, but not slippery, just for clarification!). That said, the blue was a nice choice as well! They are all nice, so to the OP I say...white, it has a black grip, so best of both worlds, haha.

AFAIS it, there are only two colored lenses, a red and a white 18-55.
So I would buy either a red or a white one to get the colored lens.
