Will using the video-out when in video mode help conserve battery?

I'm working on my filmmaking rig for the K-X and I thought I'd ask what should be an obvious question, but you never know...

If I have a field monitor running the LV via the video out AV cable, will it help the batteries in the K-X last longer?

My guess, and it's only a guess, would be yes, probably it will. The rear display is disabled when you run an external monitor, if I recall, therefore the batteries don't need to power that.

I should have specified that, hehe. Yes, the rear LCD is disabled when you attach a monitor to the video-out. I was assuming that the camera wouldn't have to work as hard to send the signal over the AV cable, but I didn't want to assume, ya know?
