K7 focus assist lamp ?

Seems like there is some truth after all about this AF assist lamp on the K7.
I have taken some pics under very low light conditions and was able to focus properly!

Now for the stupid questions:

Where is that assist lamp? Can someone in front of the camera see the actual lamp, emitting light? How does it work?

Yeah, I have a K7 and I don't know how a few things work on it.

It's the little white "dot" between the handgrip and the viewfinder "hump", on the front of the camera. It emits a green light when in use.

For that small size, it's actually a lot stronger than it looks. I was amazed by the distance this lamp could go, it's definitely handy. Because it's green and unlike the usual white/orange that other cameras have, it looks cooler and matches the Pentax green.

Thanks Ash, as I mentioned in the previous post, I just found that thing ... crazy !
All I need now is to use the remote and place myself in front of the camera and have someone else use it so I can see this green light.

Cheers!

Thanks LeDave!

Yeah ... I am anxious to actually see this small gizmo working.
You say it is surprisingly stronger than it looks; do you know how far this can reach?
Green is good ... matches well with the DA*16-50 f2.8 ring too!

Cheers!

5 meters is more than a reasonable distance, given that I usually would use this AF assist lamp inside.
