Sigma 530 Super flash doesn't fire multi flash, any advice?

So I bought the Sigma 530 Super flash this week and I've been playing with it. When I try the multi flash, I've set something like 15hz, 10 flashes, 1/64, a shutter speed of 1sec or more and it only fires once. It does fire multiple times when I press the test button on the flash. I'm using a K-7 and I wonder if I should get an upgrade for the flash firmware, or is there something else to consider?

And a bit of ranting: I've found out that the P-TTL is totally useless (if I want to get a less noticeable flash, I use a larger aperture and a higher ISO, but the preflash is still just as powerful. Old TTL works much better), the swivel head turns 180 left which is pretty dumb as I tilt my camera left to take portrait format images (if I point my camera a bit down, I can't swivel the head pointing upwards, but I certainly can point it backwards, yay) and the menu is kinda awful..

Wireless works though, but isn't very usable for portraiture and the control flash has to be fired directly at the subject. Even though I've set it off as a main flash, it's quite powerful at short distances, and causes half closed eyes .

So generally not too happy with this flash. My AF280t works great with my TTL compatible film bodies in TTL mode. I'll have to buy wireless transmitters to get rid of the control flash, but with them, I could just as well have gotten an old manual flash for way less.

An IR screen would be helpful indeed. No one knows the solution to the multi flash issue? Maybe I'll try with my half-working K100ds to see if it's an compatibility issue with my K-7.

I gave up this option when I take pictures of my kids. They always shut their eyes during the pre-flash. I m using now radio triggers from ebay to solve this problem. Popup flash can turn off as main source light, but still dimmed. I use wireless-popup only as a backup option.
