k-x, trouble entering date and time

yeah, believe it or not... something as simple as entering the date and time in the k-x set up.... i keep entering the info, press o.k., but will not 'stick'... will not save...
i've reset the factory settings, (per pentax), no difference... removed the original batteries, no difference........
otherwise the camera works aok... anyone had this moronic issue????
i'd hate to send it into service for such a minor issue......
(i've had the k100d, and now the k200d, never had such a mundane problem)...

It is probably just how you are backing out of the setting page, perhaps you just need to press left on the D-pad? What does it say to do along the bottom of the screen?

from memory you have to click down off the time, to a 'save settings' button or similar (below the section where you edit the date/time), and then click 'OK' on that. I was setting the time and just hitting menu to go back, but this just cancels any changes made.

I did the same thing on the name entry screens. I didn't even notice the Save button on that crowded screen. I was even using the manual, but when I got my name entered, I just hit OK.

Obvious once you've seen it.
