Pentax K20D Custom Menu 35

Do you use it?

Myself....was considering selling a certain lens when for the fun of it played with this feature of the K20D and be damn after minute adjustments, i would say the lens inherent softness at the centre was gone.

Brave soul. I pondered it for a while then read were you'd be playing with fire if you screwed it up. So I passed for now. What's the procedure once you get into that mode?

I think a good way to check & adjust focus accuracy is moiré pattern. You display a moiré pattern on a LCD screen and, in LV mode, adjust for max. moiré.

Tried the settings at a local event.

I wont say its close to L quality but for an old lens, its a pretty amazing comeback. The one on the left is aggressively cropped.

Experimented further with the Custom Menu and now the colors that i see is what i get off the camera.

Why brave? Are you thinking of the K10D "De-Bug" hack? There's no risk involved with the AF adjust on the K20D. I've done it for all my lenses, just takes a tripod and small investment of your time, absolutely worth it.

I've only done it with my Bigma, and I'm happy with the results. I didn't do anything more than set up the camera/lens on a tripod in the back yard and shot at a utility box a variety of times, and adjusted it until I was happy with the sharpness. I think I had to go to +9 to get what I wanted.

I haven't played with my other lenses, but I don't pixel peep them that much.

Sorry if it had discussed before,

Is there any way to past beyond -10/+10 AF adjustment, via some hack maybe?

Thanks.
