I use K10D as my backup camera. Sometimes, I want to use something light and quick, so I use the K10D with 50 f1.4. Now, I don't have the 50mm anymore, I look to the 43mm. Those are wonderful shots from the 43mm.

So how about gear used then? I like the sound of the prime lens lineup for Pentax and the results from the limiteds look nice and natural. How about zooms? I see there's a Pentax 16-50 f2.8 coming soon and that might be nice coupled with the Sigma 50-150 f2.8 released in Pentax Mount early July. Once Pentax gets it's longish zooms sorted it'll be a great system. Just not sure about the Pentax flash sytem though and how good it is.

My Pentax flash system consists of two Vivitar 283s, a Vivitar 285HV, a K-Mart Focal flash, and a Pentax 540fgz. All work great for me. I do most of my flash work in manual so the whole TTL/P-TTL thing makes not difference. For what it's worth, I did use the 540 on the camera in auto, bounced off a low ceiling in the bride's room at a recent wedding and it worked fantastic.

Here's my current setup:

2 K10D bodies
21mm
43mm
77mm

10-17mm on order

I also have my eye on the Sigma f2.8 70-200mm, which is the quintiscential lens for wedding photogs, particularly canon shooters. I hope I can find the Sigma...hard to get

3 Pocket Wizards
2 Vivitar 285HV flashes
Plan to get two more of these flashes....love'em

Assorted stands, backgrounds, etc...

BTW, just to clear up...the second shot I displayed...the one marked "then another...." was taken with the 77mm, the previous one was with the 43mm......sorry for the confusion.

Wow, this thread has started to give me the urge to try out wedding photography. I have a day job that I probably won't give up for a long time (I do enjoy programming), but it would also be fun to shoot professionally at times.

I'd also enjoy a subsection for pro shooting (though I'm not one just yet).
