I wouldn't buy neither because I don't have the money and I'm not ready for FF, at the same time I'm not interested in EVIL since it feels like and advanced P&S to me with the lack of features and no real VF. To me going EVIL from APS-C is like downgrading. Otherwise when I'm ready, FF is what I'll go for.

Lack of features? Anything particular in mind? I mean doesn't an Olympus E-P1 have pretty much everything a DSLR does - sans the OVF?

If I had to buy one or the other, it'd be a FF Pentax. Part of the reason I bought SLR in the first place is the optical viewfinder, and the spacious view provided by a FF camera is tempting indeed. However, it'd have to be stupid cheap for me to justify reworking my entire lens lineup. We're talking under $1,500 new stupid unreasonably cheap.

I have to wonder if people pining for full frame would actually buy one if Pentax brought one out, though. The Sony A850, high ISO performance notwithstanding, is a pretty excellent camera that can be had for $1,999 new. Pentax doesn't have any full frame zooms in production, so the tamron/sigma lenses I would buy for a potential Pentax FF setup are the same as the ones I'd buy for a Sony setup. The A850 has much of the same strengths (SR in body) and weaknesses (slow AF) that Pentax users have already come to accept, with the addition of class leading DR and stellar metering.

The only case where a FF Pentax body really makes sense is for people who own the limited trio and shoot primarily with those three lenses. But, honestly, I'd take a Sigma 50mm f/1.4, Zeiss 85 f/1.4 and Zeiss 135 f/1.8 setup over the limiteds when shooting FF. The argument of buying an expensive camera body to take advantage of cheap M glass doesn't make much sense either. A K1000 or ME will do a better job of metering and focusing, and is cheap to boot.

I want a small "pocketable" camera with a full frame sensor that can use interchangeable K-mount lenses (AF or MF).
Something in the size of the Oly EP-1/EP-2 or Samsung NX10 but full frame or at least 1.25 crop (like the Leica M8/M8.2)
If it means making it EVIL to get there, so be it. If it's mirrorless, then it would be even great if can use the Leica M mount with adapters for other SLR mounts (Pentax K, Nikon F, Canon EOS) similar to the m4/3 concept. Plently of potential Leica M9/M8 buyers can then be part of the addressable market.
Having an optical VF would be great but not a must have, after all the primary function of the VF is for framing the shot and if the LCD can do this and we can trust the camera can focus properly then I'm ok with the EVF

For me, the current K-7 and K-x DSLRs are small but not small enough.

I would want to buy a full frame Pentax DSLR to use with my FA limited lenses. I am willing to wait for 2-3 years though. As for a small camera, I would want something like Canon G10 or G11 but a bit smaller so that I can put it comfortably in a pocket of business suit.

I wish Pentax could polish up other technical aspects of their cameras as well (e.g. focusing) but as far as this poll's concerned I voted both... I want a EVIL + 31mm/40mm and a FF + ultra-wide and everything else.

I vote neither because I do not believe pentax will ever develop either one of them.

It took them 7 years(after other companies) to develop a much more relevant product, the X70 bridge camera.

The should concentrate on strengthing their existing lines not chasing after rediculously small niche market shares on hugely expensive developments.

Given the desire for ultra high resolution in a market where people are willing to pay thousands, and where a MF system set of lenses already exists, there may be justification.

but when you get down to the consumer level, I believe the digi cams that pentax has now, up to and including the X70 which was long overdue, plus their DSLRs capture the most important segments.

I don't see EVIL cameras, or the 4/3 or mini 4/3 to really hold any market share, and when you get the 645D then the full frame cries will stop.
