K-x: Best Body Color for Street Shooting

Just curious, those of you that use a K-x for street shooting (one of its obvious strengths), what colour do you own and is it discreet?

Do bright flashy colours attract unwanted attention or help blend in as 'a tourist with a point-n-shoot'?

I'm especially curious to hear from owners of white, red, and navy cameras ...

I don't have a K-x, and I don't do street photography...but I'd be inclined to get a colorful one if I was worried about that. A black SLR isn't exactly "discreet" just because of the color. If your subject is the type to act self-consciously because of a camera, a black one isn't going to fool them because it's somehow invisible.

A colorful SLR body, on the other hand, just looks less "serious". And if catching people candidly is your goal, so they don't act different because a "real photographer" is nearby, then a colorful camera might be an asset.

LoL, to me, the white K-x looks really nice and sexy! But I am afraid of the white body will turn to be dirty after coupls months. But honestly, that camera is "girl catching color" ^___^

The bright colors or white would also draw my wife's attention to my new purchase. I'm sticking with matching black.

This thread has got to be question of the month material.

I wouldn't recommend using a white one in Harlem.

I have a silver one, and it does work when you take a photograph of a street. Or even a road or highway. I've not tested it on a freeway though.

I dont think it makes one gram of difference which color you use. A camera is a camera is a camera, regardless of the color of the shell...one over another isn't going to make you any less noticeable, more stealth, more this that or the other.

Just get out there and shoot, act normal and natural and forget the covert nonsense, it only makes people look like creeps.

my k-x white attracts so much attention anywhere haha.

if you want to go discreet, use a black camera, since everyone's got a dslr anyway (whch is usually black).

Perhaps my hot pink camera suggests (very correctly) that I'm not a professional and am just taking random and rather poor holiday snaps. I'll add a confused tourist-like look (easy enough in my case) and have an A-Z map hanging out of my pocket.

Maybe I'll even be allowed to photograph Westminster Palace or platform 9 3/4 at Kings Cross!
