K-x a good choice ?

Just wanted to see what people are saying about the K-x, if it is worth it for someone who is taking the dive into photography. thanks.

I have it, and like it a lot... but what do you want to shoot while taking the dive into photography?

Want to do alot with the subways in new york city. Currently have the K-x with the 18-55 kit lens. as well as the 10-17 mm pentax fisheye. Just hoping thats enough to make it all come out good.

wow I look forward to the subway 10-17 shots...

I am thrilled so far with my K-x...

The DA 40 or Da 70 are nice small lenses that would play well on the subway too...

Cant wait for the fisheyes

It's a very good choice for a starter, you can learn with it, and when you know more, you can go very advanced with it. I started with my K10D about two and a half years ago and three weeks ago I sold it to get my K-x, and I don't regret it. The K-x is a fantastic little thing. Go for it!

The 10-17mm is a lense I've wanted since I first read about it, I'm sure you'll be happy.

One word: YES.
Put simply, it's the best entry-level camera available, and by a long shot if also considering price.

You'd find no better camera for that task imo.

Lets see, indoors, low lighting conditions and a lens that will get EVERYTHING in for those tight quarters in the subway system. You've got both, so make sure you update with the results!

Yes, now stop worrying and go buy one. You'll be glad you did.
