Ring......Ring....Ring..... Was this just a dream? Oh SH*T I'm late for work....got to go.

Updated on June 25th @ 3:25 P.M. USA Pacific Time.

Maybe we can all have fun with this dream camera. later on tonight, I will make the two "virgin images" below downloadeable and whoever is handy with photoShop or other imaging program can let all of us see what their dream camera would look like.

You can get the pictures below without alterations at this location: k10dbook home

Here is another option that I wish we could get from Pentax. An interchangeable prism finder with a waist-level finder. That would eliminate all of the problems associated with composing in bright daylight. I probably show my age with this option, but some of you can surely appreciate the benefits of interchangeable finders.

Um... yeah, right... I want some of what whoever came up with this is smoking. I'm not even going to bother ripping this to shreds.

Way over priced without these two features, but I'd still buy one as soon as the street price reaches $999.

If only true it would blow everybody away.

Now that I re-think it after re-viewing the artists rendition, should'nt that grip be a built in, ala D2Xs!

Personally, I like the homage to Nikon with the green arrow/triangle on the right hand grip. Totally plausible.

Look at the first "A" on the lens, is not aligned with the rest of the letters..

Yes but how big is the buffer, or i am to assume that it can stream them

QuoteOriginally posted by k10dbook Quote
3" LCD (Flip-out and twist)
Just another thing to break

QuoteOriginally posted by k10dbook Quote
17 area AF system

but i like 11 and why does it need both at the same time, wouldn't it be hard to look

Yeah it better be cleam and i want that wheel to be customisable

QuoteOriginally posted by k10dbook Quote

So worth selling the 540 then

QuoteOriginally posted by k10dbook Quote
AF assist light
Only good if it is bright enough to blind people

QuoteOriginally posted by k10dbook Quote
Storage SD / SDHC / CF
Is that the new slim profile CF cards

QuoteOriginally posted by k10dbook Quote
Flash Sync Terminal
No that's what i'm talking about

QuoteOriginally posted by k10dbook Quote
Maximum Flash Sync - 1/2000 sec
So are the New AA series lenses in possession of leaf shutters.

Yes but then i what happens when the kids play with the phone, sudeenly you got the camera snapping away, and the battery last so long you forget to ever charge it, and come on 4000 Raws, what's the point, your just going to have to download them all.

Very nice, does it use that new fangled tardas system to make the aperture bigger but still being able to keep the lens small.

Seriously it should be less then a cup of coffee and September, come on, that is too late as i was hoping to have it for my trip to Sydney. Not good enough Pentax i am going to have to dump the system now

Yes, it's just like a dream. But I don't need all those..

> 18MP Full Frame CCD

12.8MP is adequate.

> 10 FPS in RAW 24 FPS JPEG

17 FPS RAW and 60 Jpegs continuous burst mode is ideal.

> 3" LCD (Flip-out and twist)

Not necessary. 2.5" would be enough but a much more colour and brightness accurate LCD is highly desirable.

> 17 area AF system

One single central point is enough, preferably with more auxilliary assisting AF points around the central to improve hit rate and tracking ability.

The central AF sensors should be further divided for optimising for different f/5.6 or f/2.8 lenses so that all lenses can be focused accurately with the AF system.

> Live view and through viewfinder simultaneously

Not critical feature but Pentax has applied a new patent for it.

> Vertical e-dial for ISO
> ISO 25 to 6400

Not needed for me. Just if the ISO 1600 of the K10D can be as less noise as the one of the EOS 5D..

> Built-in flash - Guide Number 400

Then, this would be a weapon for making people blinds! ;-)

> AF assist light

No need if the AF system is sensitive and responsive enough.

> Storage SD / SDHC / CF

Either SDHC or CF is adequate. Memory card is damn cheap right now.

> Flash Sync Terminal

The *ist D has this.

> Maximum Flash Sync - 1/2000 sec

K10D and K100D have this already?

> Remote control - via any cell phone or optional remote

Already have with optional Pentax remoter (I have two different models).

> Li-ion proprietary battery - 4000 shots between charges

No such thing on Earth, except the battery to be made very *huge*!

> Battery Grip with internal hard drive- capacity:4000 RAW images

Harddrive is something not truly reliable for portables.

> New AA Series lens. Camera delivered with 70mm f/1.4

The DA*55/1.4 is on the roadmap!

> Price:$1500.00

You will get what you pay for!

> Availability: September 2007

Yes, I have one now, which is even better (as for what I have compared and state above). But unfortunately it is not a Pentax, but a Canon :-( How can I use my Limited and FA Primes on my 5D? :-(((

> ..........Ring....Ring..... was this just a dream? Oh SH*T I'm late for work....got to go.

Yes, it's just like a dream to me too. I'd better go to have a bath now and sleep earlier tonight!

This would be a great camera, the rotatable lcd alone would be worth it. What a dream, to bad it is a photoshop camera.
