I originally had a white K-X. Loved it, but returned it because I wanted the 55-300mm lens which only came with the black kit

Wish I still had the white one though...

I would by white every time. I also want one from the Japanese market, orange and blue :P

I have the white, and I love it. The only other I might have chosen over it, is one looking like the K20D titanium: http://technabob.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/pentax_k20d_titanium_2.jpg

It's awesome! :P

It kinda stinks that only black is available with the 2 lens kits. I probably would have gotten white even against my wife's best wishes if it was available in 2 lens kit. I handled both the white and blue K-x in the store and loved the white. The blue's paint looked cheap, like it wasn't applied evenly. I have seen pics of the titanium/silver colored K-x and that looked excellent.

This is going to sound bad, but the white colour was one of the selling points for me in the K-x!
Then, once I had my mind set on the camera, I found out that I could only get the black model locally (Ontario, Canada) since I don't have a credit card to buy online, and at that time, I didn't know of Prodigital2000 and such.

Then I bought my camera from Futureshop, complete with 4 year warranty. They threw in A LOT of things as a part of the deal. Still desperate, and very jealous of others posting pictures of the sexy white K-x online, I went by Henrys and asked them to match my deal from Futureshop, as they said they *might* be able to order it in, but it would take a few weeks.

The damages: $150+ more for the exact same, if not worse deal. They couldn't price match it, and this was the 'best he could do'.

I went home disappointed.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my K-x, but I REALLY want it in white!

It looks soo amazing imo. I love being different, so maybe it's just me.

My white K-x arrived last Thursday and I've been spending time playing with it. So far I'm real impressed with it. Tonight I tried out my old manual focus M lenses. Real cool. I'm just tickled pink how well they work with it.

I would have got the titaniam K20D if they were out when I got mine. I reckon it looks pretty good, even better with the matching grip. I like the coloured camera's, its good to be different.

Nobody said the best (IMO) advantage of the White (or non blue/black) K-x = non threatening street shooting.

Am I right?

Only if you want people looking at your camera. I do a lot of street shooting, and for my stuff, no way I would use a white (or any colour) camera.
Having a very noticeable camera is a valid option though.

I'm the opposite from everyone else in this thread. Don't want people looking at my camera. Don't want people commenting or talking to me about my camera. Don't want my camera noticed much at all!

Don't care at all what it looks like, as long as it's relatively small and unobstrusive.

Had mine for a month now and I love it. Everyone that has seen it thinks it's neat. I also thought white would be more non-threatening. Would I buy it again? Yeah, probably, but I'd also re-consider the navy one, or even bright blue. XD

I could pass on the white. I'd rather have the green, the purple, or the silver version. But really I don't care that much about which version. I'll choose whichever is available and that my wallet can afford when the time comes. Having a K-X in any color is better than having no K-X at all, shrug.
