All are excellent. That lens has real character, and you have a good eye for a photograph. Is that the Pentax M 50/1.7 or the A 50? Or something completely different?

Thanks very much. I've only had the K-X for a while, but enjoy the ability to use a few old lenses I had with my K1000. The lens in question is the Pentax SMC-A 50, 1.7. I also have a Pentax 28 2.8, and a 100 f4.

(I also have a Contax 139 which I used to shoot with a lot. I kept the Yashica lens, but sold the Zeiss lenses to help pay for the K-X. Wish I could have used them on the Pentax.)

One more K-X shot

Hi, I inherited an old 70-210 Pentax-A f4 zoom from my father - a bit rough, and I didn't expect a lot from it - but it has very good optics as far as I can see. Here's a shot of my 9-year-old, shot quickly in low light in the kitchen. Very sharp.

Stanley Clarke w. Hiromi at Atlanta Jazz Festival May/30/2010:

because of the strong harsh stage lighting - I had to use recovery and adjust the exposure via ACR on this JPG.

Thank you both so much for your very kind words.

Andras: I'm an admirer of your photos -
especially the ones of the birds with the long zoom lenses -
there were some really good ones of egrets? with your 50-200 -
and to think there were some reviews that downgraded that kit zoom lens.
I think it's a lot more to do with the photographer than the equipment.......

All these concert shots were with the humble 50-200 kit zoom -
I was sitting in the rain out with the crowd
on the "wrong" side of the barrier -
no preferential treatment, no photo pass....

Thanks.

Thought I'd share this one from a different thread, but seems to be a favorite by friends and family.
