Just in case some were wondering we lost 24 hours' worth of posts -
please see: We're back (in yesterday land)

Anyway just to keep this thread going
and for something completely different -

I made a comment when I first posted some of these photos elsewhere - that the K-x was fast -

Timing is always a challenge for these shots - James Williams often does a double cut - first cutting off a section, and the second cutting that section in mid-air, both the shots above show that.

The Pentax K-x dSLR is faster in operation (than the K100D I used in previous years) - which helped in some shots - but on some the second (anticipated) shot of mine was too early - so I caught the preparation or set up, as oppose to the actual second cut -
that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.....

You can either lock the ISO to a certain number, or let it float through a range you choose.

I apologize if I already posted these in this thread, but here a few of my favorites, all taken with M42 Super Takumars:

Pantheon in Rome.

Not a great photo, but was still awesome to see a Bison walking 6 feet away from our Denali in Yellowstone Nat'l Park.

Some friends I met at a hostel in Venice, this was the northeast side of the Island of Murano.

Grand Teton Nat'l Park.

Not all great photos, but keep in mind, this was my first SLR and the highest tech camera I've had before my Kx was a Canon P&S from the early 2000s. All shots were taken with the kit lens, no tripod, usually on auto setting. Now that I've expanded my knowledge base and some of my lenses and equipment (Fast Fifty ftw), I'm really excited to see the capabilities of this camera.

I love love love my Pentax
