I've been away for a while

but here are some of my favourites from this past summer. We attended a Pow Wow in Calgary Alberta Canada; the last photo shows the face of one of the drummers.

These shots seem a little blurry to me when necked-down to .jpg and uploaded to the web. On-screen they're tack sharp.

Here are a few that I have done of my first shots, I am still figuring this thing out but I just love it, One thing I really love about the camera is how responsive it is compared to my little point and shoot Canon(even though the Canon is an awesome little camera) It is awesome knowing that it is always staying focused to my birds face when I have it set to AF-C, that makes it ready for the shot at all times. I also am having a good time getting used to the instant shutter click when I push the shutter button, it helps me get that Certain pose when it happens. It is my FIRST ever DSLR and am learning so much, these images are of my Blue and gold Macaw, I took them in RAW and PPed them in Camera Raw, I am still learning Camera Raw as well but still just having fun. the first image was taken from 15 feet away with my 50~200mm Zoom that came with my kit, I could never get this kind of shot of my bird because with my point and shoot camera she would see me coming and just try and attack it instead of doing her pozes~

PS: I just realised that I took these images with 6400 ISO setting, no wonder they were a bit grainy and noisy in Camera Raw!

Thanks John. When I have a chance I'm going to post a gallery. There were beautiful colors and dances.

I can't pick favorites!!!
So I guess I'll go by categories... :F

Favorite Artsy - Kx, SMC-M 50mm f1.7

Favorite Landscape - Kx, Multi-Coated Takumar 28mm f3.5
I plan to go back here and achieve enlightenment, sooner or later... :F

Favorite Children's Portrait - 50 f1.7 again. Really love that lens...

Favorite Street Candid - That nifty 50 again

Just for grins / Experimental - Kx, DA50-200
I cheated a bit on this one - its actually a 2-exposure composite. The composition is all accurate, there was just no way to get both items in focus at the same time... Without a REAAALLLLLY tiny aperture.

Just got back from Italy, and this was probably the best picture (and view) of the trip. Kx + Sigma 17-70mm:

Overlook on the Amalfi Coast

Perhaps this one too (DA*50-135mm):

Pompeii Dog
