a few from earlier today, just walking around killing some time with my DA* 50-135.

This lens doesn't have very close focusing abilities (minimum is around 1 meter) so I ended up cropping a lot out of the images.

I also got Nik Sharpener 3 today to help me appropriately sharpen for different outputs.(printing, screens, etc) This is the first (and right now) only image I have used it on.

That's hot! I want a fish eye, but kinda hard to find for Pentax, and even more in a length adequate for APS-C...

I was on a budget when I got mine, you can't go wrong with the Samyang if you are on a budget. I eventually want to get a Pentax one, but need to save up a little more.

Did a lot of research and the Samyang version came out on top over the Peleng and faired well against the sigma 8mm f/4.

The only thing I don't like about it is the built in hood, I am dying to shoot film with this thing but you can't unless you saw the hood pedals off, which I don't want to do.

The Samyang has excellent performance, got a nice shot today with it on the K5, which you can check out here -> https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-k-5-forum/123731-no-more-tests-jus...ml#post1481115

A couple more KX shots, shot with the 3.5 FE. Both images were processed in camera for the "Color Extraction (one green, one red)", then sized off camera for posting to this thread...

How much do Samyang 8mm 3.5 FEs run? I really like the curve effect they give.

This lens is what I consider a beast! Prone to flare, but typical for fish eyes. The particular one I got was the Rokinon one (Samyang manufactures them for about 5 different brands, with extremely slight differences between them). The Rokinon runs about $290, the Vivitar one (Which I will be purchasing in about 2 weeks) is about $330, the Opteka one runs about $270, the bower one is around $270 also I think, and the Samyang labeled one is about $350.

They are all essentially the same, with only a minimal difference in the range (7mm, 8mm, etc..), the focusing grips seem to be different also, and the letter coloring. I originally wanted the Vivitar one but my source was out of them at the time, so I picked up the Rokinon, and honestly, couldn't be happier - best $290 I have spent on a budget lens purchase.

The ONLY issue I have with it (the flare is sort of an issue too, but most of the time good pp can get rid of most of it) is the lens hood, it is not removable, and that leads to the issue that that causes, and that is the ability to use it on full frame cameras, you can not. You can cut the pedals off of the lens hood and then you would be able to use it on full frames, but I am not quite ready to do that yet. So, earlier today I purchased a Takumar 18mm (baby) FE from the marketplace here so I can shoot some fish eye film pics.

Pretty interesting shot I just got with the K-X, interesting as I was goofing off with my Tak 1.4 with a 31mm ExTube, and this is the pic it produced:

Pretty nice when you can experiment with a few different things and turn out usable results
