K-X shots

Here are some recent pics from my K-x. A few from my backyard and recent trip to Italy. Enjoy. Thanks for looking.

This isn't a best shot post, but a post to show the resolution and IQ of the K-X.

This image is cropped down to 1195(w) pixels (from original 4352px width), then sized to 800(w) pixels for posting here - pretty stunning IQ for a crop, more stunning that is is from an inexpensive camera body, and maybe even more stunning that it was shot by my 9 year old son with a sigma 70~300 APO @ 300mm...

I shot a benefit for The Clean Water Foundation on Saturday night. Paula Boggs and Carson and Tess Henley graciously performed their hearts out for the crowd.

Carson and Tess Henley @ ISO 3200

Carson and Tess Henley @ ISO 6400

Paula Boggs @ ISO 6400

These are all very nice. Skin tones and detail have been preserved very well despite the high ISO. What was the lens?

Thank you for the comments. I used a DA*50-135mm which always impresses me.

The club was super dark; I had to use ISO12,800 much of the time.

I went on a hike yesterday in Briones Regional Park, and got to this spot just in time to see Mt. Diablo in shadow from these clouds directly above.

I got a few different compositions, but this is the first one I have finished editing.

K-x and Tamron 17-50 @ 38mm f/16
bracketed 3 exposures (-2,0,+2)
because the clouds moved in between exposures I had to mask in the sky from one of the RAW files.
