Maybe not my best, but one of my better shots lately. Shot with my Lentar 135mm M42 lens and part of a Vivitar extension tube set. I used just the longest ring of the set, which is about 30mm I think. Been a while since I measured it. I normally wouldn't have shot this lizard from behind, but when he looked back at me I decided to try it anyway and was glad I did once I saw it on the computer...Also posted in another thread a couple of weeks back.

No editing except crop and resize. I wish I could have cropped out the part of a leaf on the left, but it wasn't meant to be so. I didn't like it when I shot it, but I don't pick where these guys give me a shot...

about how close were you (or your face) from the lizard? I've always wanted to take pictures of things like that, but too scared to get that close.

Fighting a real slump these days. No inspiration. My kid is always a fun subject though. Loves to jump off stuff.

This shot is from back in 2011 waiting for a flight at LAX.
I just recently rediscovered it, and realized how great of a shot it really is. (with my growing appreciation for candid and street photography)

mpmetro - Since I was using the 135mm and extension tubes, its maximum focus distance with the tube I was using is about 1 1/2 feet, so I was no more than 2 feet away at very most. I get lots closer, 6 inches or so, with the binocular lens rig. Lizards are harmless, no danger in getting that close. Don't try it with an alligator though...

Geekette - Thanks.

This shot is almost perfect. I love it. His expression is so great...like he's saying "I realize you're looking at me, but I think you're a weirdo." Wonderful stuff.
