There are times when even RAW is defeated - here's a case of a RAW processing S/W which does not yet understand the K-x - so the case is somewhat extreme - but it is a very good illustration that RAW is not a panacea/silver bullet to all problems -
eg: I could not manage to get to the same color/hue rendition of the paired JPG - and I really tried - please see:
Post #182 in Do people really shoot in JPEG???
Interesting - I'm processing in Photoshop Elements and GIMP (UFRAW) currently, and those programs need almost no adjustment to get to natural colors and good contrast/exposure, certainly waaaaay less tweaking than I was doing with my K10. I used to spend several minutes on each photo getting the white balance alone right and now I hardly have to do anything - just adjust exposure or recover highlights/bring up blacks and then hit 'okay.' Maybe some software likes Pentax DNG images better than others?

This isn't my best K-x shot, but I like this little guy a lot.

He comes to my back door every day and chortles away happily for a while. If I whistle to him, he even responds in tune.

It was my pleasure. Here, have another K-x bird shot, a chook at the local agricultural show.

This was taken last year, just a few hours after I bought the camera. It's a favorite of mine because it has a real 3D look, the colours and composition work very well, and the bird is very engaging. It was also one of the first shots I did at high ISO (6400 ISO) with the camera. It came out so well (with no post-processing at all) that I knew the K-x was going to be a very useful camera.
