Here is one of my Congo African Gray, it is a nice close up I did with my old pentax 50mm 1.4 I closed the aperture down as much as I could and used the onboard flash, this was a tough shot since this bird moves around so much I had to take about twenty shots to get this one, it only required a little PP but I am happy with the resultsAttachment 85826

Here are a few shots I've taken around campus. The portrait and squirrel taken with the kit 18-55mm, the b&w and Bacardi shots were captured with a sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 EX DG.

By playing with layers in photoshop.

I've lost my bookmarks so I don't have the link to the site that has the tutorial offhand, but its basically using layers to subtract certain colors from the original image until you have the somewhat vintage look about the photo.
