These will probably be the last portraits I'll post for a while, want to get better with natural light and more abstract shots. I did a bunch of shots of my nephew for some prints I'm giving out to my grandmother for Christmas and here are a couple fun ones:

These are great man... I keep enjoying your stuff!
Prints for Christmas is a great idea! My and my girl are doing something similar for my mam and dad this year... Collected all our shots of our kid and my sisters kids for a framed collage of their grandchildren!
Kinda make being a hobbytogger worthwhile when you get those prints back :-)

Couple of shots from my Mam's front room on Sunday... 1) my Nephew: Bananaface and 2) My (step)Son Cheekychops ...
Used 2 flashes, off camera bounced into ceiling as the room is quite big(1 flash at either end of room)
It was Bananaface's birthday...
I'm not sure how to upload these any smaller, so apologies...

I hope it is ok to post a shot in a few threads (since the image location is still in the memory - hehe):
K-x with Sigma 10-20 f/4 - 5.6, @10mm f/11 ISO 200 and 13 s exposure.

Thanks mate. I wish I had your talent to come up with such natural family shots - as in the above examples.

Ha!
Really it's just a case of bullying them until I get a shot or bored... LOL

If we're at my Mam's I position 2 flashes on triggers as soon as I walk through the door (one on the mantelpiece and one on a small bookcase) pointing at the ceiling...
Now I have a massive light source for later and nobody really noticed I was setting it up cos I'm talking and messing up my sisters hair and stuff as I do it...
Leave the camera in the bag...
Play with the kids for half an hour or so, all boys so wrestling is the main game...
Have a drink and some food...
Then get the camera out...

Here's one of my sister and her boy Bananaface and a second (not what I consider a keeper) that shows a bit of the set-up (although I think my mam may have turned it)
There's another flash behind me and the brown sofa in the 1st is to my left....
