I played around with a Minolta SRT-101 and Kodachrome back in the early 70s. Since then I've only dabbled infrequently with doing more than snapshots. Now that I'm retired I plan to take up photography as a regular hobby. Thanks for your encouragement.

It's probably like riding a bike. As your images highlight, once you've acquired camera skills and a photographers eye, even after a break of some years, those skills stay with you.

Hi Sara, with the exception of the first image (and Jason ), they all look sharp to me.

The nose of the kitten is perhaps slightly sharper than the left eye, that's the problem with a limited DOF, you cannot have the nose and both eyes in focus. In general it's best to focus on the nearest eye. The same applies to humans, but they have in general a short nose compared to dogs and cats

The snow scene with the powerlines is cutting sharp, a nice collection of images.
Well, the first shot is slightly out of focus even at its sharpest point because it was crazy windy out that day... and I even held the stem to keep it from moving! lol And Jason is supposed to be out of focus. I focused on the railing in order to have him in the background. Thanks so much for your comments though, it means a lot!

I've only had mine for a few days and haven't had a chance to shoot much except for a couple of bird shots on the deck. I sold my K20D and kept the Kx. I lost a few features but the overall IQ and high ISO performance help the bottom line of better looking pictures. I'm very impresse with this little body.

I spent a week with the Kx in YunNan China, I Tested the Low light capability for the Kx, It's pretty good at ISO 1600 with or without flash. But the SR was kind of buggy, I got alot of blurry images, even at over 1/50 sec, sometime it worked amazing well at 1/4 sec.

All pictures were taken with Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 Lens handheld.

Image 1: ISO 100, F22, 1/13 Sec @28mm

Image 2: ISO 1000, F4 no Flash, 1/13 Sec @

Image 3: ISO 1600, F2.8 with popup Flash, 1/60 Sec @28mm

Image 4: ISO 200, F2.8, 1/2000 Sec @75mm
