K10 & K20 over 10000 shutter releases

Hi All,
Both my cameras have just tick over 10000 frames and was thinking of having the shutter button checked as it would seem that I'm missing some frames when I have pressed the button and feel that this is due to usage.

Has this happen to you, if so what did the service do
tighten the button release or replaced the this part with a new one

Cheers
Russell

10k shutter releases is nothing really....I had a K10D that had well over 45K and what finally killed it was a faulty on of switch.

Was it not feasible to have the K10D repaired?

10k actuations should in no way warrant anything wearing out regarding rhe button or shutter itself. When you say missing shots, what does this mean exactly? There can be other reasons why the camera will not fire when the button is pressed...fatigue at 10k is about 90% too soon.

My K10D is just coming up to 40k and today the memory card door latch seems to have broken .. apart from that it's still going strong (famous last words).

You've misread numbers. Pentax states not 10K, but at least 100K for K10D, K20D and K-7
