Mixed card counter issue.

I know after a quick search others ran into this problem https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-dslr-discussion/909-k10d-photo-ind...t-cameras.html but not sure if an answer was found. I did this as another poster did. Shoting with DS and K10 ran out of cards and wanted to still use K10. So I took the card from DS used it for remainder of shot. Now noticed the K10 shots numbered in the 8000 range when should be in the 3000 range. Anyone figure out how to reset the counter. your help apreciated. It is more annoying then anything as I would like to have a better idea of how many clicks on the K10

I got it. Okay take card out make sure it is empty. Go into settings Rec. Mode open it by using the right arrow, scroll down to File No. uncheck the box. Now put in card take picture or two. They should be 001 and 002. I did this to make sure it went to 0 and it did. I then took the card out deleted the pictures via my PC and card reader. Loaded a file with picture I wanted, in my case I chose img4000. Before puting it back in the camera I went back to the settings and rechecked the File No. box. But in card took pictures. now have 4001 & 4002. Cool. I took the card out deleted again, tried again and looks like all is well. I know have my K10 back roughly were it should be and not 9000. Well as far as the file count which is want I wanted. Hope this helps others.

oh man! Am I glad for this info! It's like a christmas present, thanks!

Now the only thing this thread needs is a reply that tells how to find what your actual shutter counter is on right now. With that info, I'd be able to "reset" both my K10 and my K100 to their "rightful" shutter actuations.

Anybody? I searched around here via google, and only found one post that said it was discussed on dpreview and no one found a solution. There must be a "power on" keypress combination that tells you this, right?
