SR has to be turned off while using a tripod,
do you think it'd be better to turn off as well using something like that?
It is not completely steady and there is constant pressing from hand hence some shake?

I think it does as previous older models all behave this way. But I don't have a Kx to confirm it.

One person claimed his K-x does behave this way. See link

I only use it when I need it , eg shooting under 1/50 sec. cos to keep it on is only gonna wear it out.

The design is such that there is no extra wear for having it enabled. So from that perspective you can leave it on, you are not going to wear it out.
