Does AF adjustment improve AF speed?

Recently I adjusted AF for my K10D to a value that suits most of my lenses quite well.

As I consequence, I get sharper shots (of course)

The funny thing is, I feel like AF does hunt less! It seems that before the adjustment, AF jumped forth and back from 'supposed to be sharp' to 'is sharp' on some lenses.

Did anyone experience the same? Or am I just dreaming?

Other opinions? Am I the only one with that feeling?
