K7 Video function

Any body know how to stop the video from going too dark and light when filming, i know the apature can be set but it flicks from dark to light too often, its always partly underexposed when filming even at 5.6?

Any ideas?

And also does it record better at 720p rather then the higher setting (1.6m)?

You can use the AE-L feature during a video...
This will lock the current settings, so the video brightness will not vary depending on what you point your k7 at... You just have to find what is the best thing to point it at!

I wish AE-L for video was a custom setting. That is, I'd like to have AE-L activated every time I shoot video, without having to press it every time I hit record.

yeah it is strange how they have done it, however after you mentioned it, it does make sense to me, and i can now lock it so its not jumping around, i have taken some better videos with it, i think it should have been better explained in the manual.

thankyou for your replies

I was having the same problem (camera changing exposure during filming as lights are turned off and on). Good to know there is a workaround, though I also wish I could save it as a custom setting.

Unfortunately it it is also changing the white balance during a take (even with a static setting like "Tungsten" selected), which is considerably worse than changing the exposure. Does anyone know if there is a way to prevent it from doing this during a take?
