K-7 Firmware Wish List thread

Post your wish list here.

1) More accurate horizon leveling - Maybe a firmware to be able to calibrate it yourself? Similar to being able to do micro-AF adjustments to certain lenses. (Some people including me have issues with the horizon leveling indicator being either a little off or way off, it'd be great if you could adjust it to your sensor's need).

2) More sensitive AF illuminator - Maybe a firmware to allow sensitivity adjustment? (Such settings as Low, Medium, and High) Allowing you to set sensitivity to when the AF Illuminator will turn on. Sometimes it's dark and the illuminator won't turn on because it's not dark enough, I wish it was more sensitive to dark lighting. Certain lenses have more trouble focusing in low-light than others.

3) For all Pentax DSLR's and not just the K-7. A firmware to allow choose whether to use SDM or screw-drive on SDM lenses containing a screw-drive.

Also

User-configurable lens IDs which save lens correction data. M42 lenses don't send lens IDs so it's not possible to compensate for front or back focusing issues.

For lenses: - Option to select SDM / Screwdrive
For Video: - Full manual control & audio monitoring
For HDR: - Automatic alignment
For Viewfinder: - Split screen
For SR / horizon correction: - Fine tunign option for horizon correction (mentioned above)
For sensor: - the update kit as suggested by asdf
For power handling: - Automatic switch from grip battery to/from in-camera battery if preferred battery is selected (Mine at least switched off when grip battery drained during video shooting).

Other: - James Bond tripod that appears from camera base and weights nothing.

I'd still like to see my automatic-hyperfocal mode idea implemented.

Ability to turn SR on at all time. Good for hand-held action shots.

I was just thinking that if Pentax had some revenue to spend on producing these firmware wishlists, more of the requests might actually get done. What do you think? See:

Thanks
