Jan, it worked before... Nothing new here!

I didn't try with non-A manual lenses (either PK or m42), to see if they fixed the AE-L bug, though.
ok.. so that wasn't new.
AE-L does work with my 135mm f2.8 PK non-A lens.
Could we say that bug has been fixed?

The bug actually was the following : if you lock AE before recording, the movie is badly exposed...

This is understandable with a PK lens, as the body cannot know the aperture used beforehand...
But with m42, where the aperture doesn't move when the recording starts, it's a bug.

Both cases could have been solved by always stopping down non-A lenses in movie mode, even when idle... This would ensure a proper metering for PK lenses...

So far, this 1.03 firmware has fixed a few issues and has broken nothing new. If someone comes across some "strange new behaviour" they never noticed before, the fix is easy... revert to an old firmware and see if it's still the case. Just remember to do it with a fully charged battery and follow the directions properly.

Nope, not on mine. I never see that triangle on my top LCD screen, or at least never in movie mode.

edit: the only time I see it is when I'm selecting the ISO sensitivity in any mode other than movie mode. Otherwise, it's never lit up on my camera.
Ditto here. I just tried to make the triangle appear in movie mode on my v1.03 K-7, and couldn't do so. Tried enabling/disabling aperture control, SR, autofocus, horizon display / level correction and changing the position of the focus mode dial as well. None of them made any difference - pressing the ISO button still gave me the usual warning screen and no triangle on the top display.

My, you made me hesitate here...

So I took my K7, scratched my head for half a minute trying to figure out how to take a photo of my only camera (!), and remembered my daughter's DSi (sorry for the quality!)...

So here it is...

Seems really curious to me that you'd get the triangle in movie mode and we wouldn't, given identical hardware and firmware. Which makes me wonder whether it's related to a specific setting on your camera, or perhaps you've gotten a slightly different firmware version to us. (What's the minor firmware version number if you look at EXIF in PhotoMe?)

The triangle is there if you have chosen conf. setting 25 ->4 or 25->5. That is when you have chosen ISO for the second dial in Av mode.
Very interesting indeed!

Jan's got it. Just tested, and with 25-4 or 25-5 it appears for me too. It's just a - not sure if you'd call it a bug, really, but the camera doesn't disable the indicator even though it can't be adjusted.

Interesting (and well done on the sleuthing, Jan!)...

Well found, Jan!
So, this is new to this version, as I set this to 4 first thing when I took my k7 out of its box... T'was already my setting way back in my K10 days (then K20...).

ah! There we go, that explains it. Either of those options for that setting makes ISO selectable via a command dial. So technically ISO can always be selected on the fly, and therefore the triangle by the ISO number stays lit. Apparently the camera is just too stupid to know that it's not allowed to change ISO in movie mode, so it leaves that triangle lit in error.

Well, seems like they fixed the AE-L bug with m42 lenses...
Like I said before, using AE-L before (not during!) recording with a m42 lens often lead to an overexposed movie...

But I couldn't repeat this with the v1.03... The movie stays properly exposed now once the recording starts!

PK lenses still cannot use AE-L beforehand, though... Or only wide open, which is understandable. Never tried to use AE-L while using the Optical preview...

Okay... Made some tests:
- AE-L can be triggered while using the Optical preview. The movie is then properly exposed with a PK lens.
- my PK lens behave strangely even wide open : the liveview (before recording) is darker than the actual recording (always have been). I cannot understand the difference with a m42 lens! Maybe the fact that the mount's contacts are shorted?
