Santa's B&H Elves Have Just Arrived

I'm about to open a huge box which weighs a ton and contains my KX and add-ons.

Plus, it's Friday.

Does it get any better than this?

Well, living in Florida probably helps your good cheer. Try coming up to the Northeast where we've gotten almost 2 feet of snow since yesterday.

Meanwhile, I have to wait for the shipping and receiving guy to get back from a doctor's appointment to log it in--so it still sits unopened!!!

And I heard about your weather (former New Yorker here, Canarsie, Brooklyn). My friend's flight there was canceled today.

Been down here about 16 years, and I just can't handle that weather any more. The food, on the other hand, STINKS down here compared to New Jersey and New York. The best here isn't as good as the WORST up THERE!

I don't think your shipping guy is the problem.... If it's taken Santa's elves 2 months to deliver your stuff they need to be fired! LOL Seriously.. have fun with the new toys.

State agency.

It takes a month to get a box of paper clips.

Today?

I accidentally got a DA 15 I didn't order.

Maybe it's yours.

Did you accidentally pay for the DA15 you didn't order?

First impressions:

1) Never held one before, and was afraid of the "wimpy" size reputation that this had, but no way. Size and weight seem great at first touch, and it feels quite solid for the price.

2) Diopter works great for me (more of a viewfinder guy myself in the field), manual focus feels a little loose but it seems to work fine. I haven't had a new piece of equipment in a long time, so maybe they're making these rings differently now.

2) How do you put the strap on and turn this thing on? And where do you load the film?

Mmmmm...

No internal memory.

Off to the store now to buy a fresh card, and not infect it with this SD card that sat in a cheap point-and-shoot Minolta.

I'm jealous. My box does not come in until Monday 3/1, but its going to have some nice presents, a Kx, the kit 18-55mm and a tamron 70-300mm lens. Monday can't come fast enough

True that. All this snow has made me really consider purchasing the K-7 for its weatherproofing. Snow stop already! Maybe I just need to book a flight down to Florida for March.

Glad you got your 15 which I didn't pay for!

And Mike:

Former Canarsie boy here. But the weather has been cold for a few days on and off in South Florida. It actually got down to the high 30s and 40s at night.

I moved down here after two of the worst winters ever in NY in like 1993 and 1994, and aside from missing real food, I love it down here.

Same thing here, except a Tamron 90mm macro, and Sigma flash ring.

The tripod doesn't count.
