K-x Manual Mode only to ISO 200?

(KX--can't edit titles, huh?) [ MODERATOR COMMENT: but *we* can! :-) ]

In full manual, I have highlight Correction off, and she bottoms at 200. Didn't check the high end, but I'm assuming it's the limited range there too.

Am I hallucinating?

Also, the SR mechanism ain't no clunk. More like a ping.

Ira,

I can't tell you why, but my K-x is the same. Have you tried reset? I suspect it is like highligt correction and there is a reason why the minimum is 200.

You need to turn on expanded sensitivity in custom menu 1 item 3 to get ISO 100 and 12800.

Bob
Reset is going to restore me to all factory settings, right?

I'll play with this tonight, because I can sure live with it in the meantime, while I learn to intuitively work in full Manual. And another observation:

Full Manual is GREAT on this camera for me, especially with the SR and in-focus prompts. The only thing that's weird is the position of the focusing ring on the 18-55 kit. I keep touching the zoom ring instead.

Ooops! Sorry, I forgot that the base ISO on the K-x is 200. Too many years with my K10D and not enough time with the K-x yet.

oddly I got to 12800 on the high end, but low end is still 200. The menu setting per the instructions shows 100 iso, but it is not available via the ISO button
