What did the k-7 cost when released?

I've been looking at the current Pentax K-7 prices and I started to wonder how much it's fallen in price since release. How much did it originally cost?

It retailed for 1300 when first released, after a month or two, it dropped down 1,100 and remained above 1,000 until last week it dropped to 979 on Amazon. Very surprised that the price remained as high as it did for so long, I expected it to drop below 1,000 at the beginning of December 2009. Even the K-x dropped harder in price despite the fact that it's selling better.

In the UK it was released at around £1200 ($1800) and now best price is £800ish ($1200) so our best price nearly a year on is just below what you paid when it first arrived.

Glad I've still got my K200D :P. Been thinking about an upgrade though, but I might get the DA* 300mm instead.
