Complex software usually comes with a bunch of bugs, that hopefully gets fixed after some (usually long) time. Everyone knows this.

But the same thing happens with hardware, except the end user rarely get the new versions. The first versions usually have a couple of design faults that get "fixed" by hand during production, cut that trace and solder that component upside down.
After a while these are fixed and at the same time other small improvements are made. So I would be more surprised if there where no difference in hardware between one of the first k7 and of the latest.
