Warning to Canadian K-7 shoppers....avoid Dell Canada

Thought I would share a warning to my fellow Canadians on the forum who might be K-7 shopping, like myself.

I found that Dell Canada was selling the K-7 with 18-55WR kit for $1199. Expensive compared to the US, yes, but best price I've found in Canada.

After placing my order, I decided to confirm the 2yr warranty coverage with Pentax Canada. I was promptly told by Pentax's National Sales Mgr that Dell Canada is not an authorized dealer, and the warranty would not be honored at all. Called Dell back up, and they told me the manufacturer would support the warranty.

Also, I did confirm prior, that Dell Canada would ship the unit from within Canada. This wasn't a drop ship of Dell US.

I cancelled my order until the two of them figure it out.

Buyer beware.

Maybe this is why half of the Pentax stuff on their site is labelled as "Brother"... weird.

If you are not from Ontario, Prodigital2000 price is hard to beat. And I have purchased stuff from them before; they are authorized Pentax dealer recognized by Pentax support in Canada.

Dell sucks on every department anyway, why buy anything from Dell? But.... Buy Pentax, definitely haha

You order anything from Dell, it comes from the United States. I ordered a dell inspiron 1501, tracked it, it came from down in Austin Tx. I own a truck on with a company that hauls Dell into Canada, it5 gets dropped off at an expedite company an then shows up on your doorstep.
