K7- Auto Distortion Correction for 14mm Pentax

The only lens I saw that Pentax states the K7 won't correct for automatically (of the new AF lenses) is the 10-17mm.

How well does the K7 correct the moustache type barrel distortion for the Pentax 14mm?

I've read reviews on the lens (photozone) but it didn't include in camera corrected images for Jpegs.

Thanks to anyone who has anything to add here.

Carl

Moved to DSLR forum as this is a question about a camera function.

I never noticed that the 14 had significant distortion. I suppose if I had gone looking, I would have found something, but in the use I gave it, nothing ever popped out at me.
BTW, I have a moustache, my best friend's wife has a moustache, but I have yet to see a lens with one.
Are you talking about barrel distortion, pincushion distortion or something else?

I've used the DA 14 and haven't noticed any moustache (wavy) distortion.
But I do know the Sigma 10-20mm does suffer from it.

Photozone measures a lot of things that don't pan out in the real world.
Go out and take some pictures and don't believe everything you read (unless I write it).

If you look at the test image on that site, you'll have to strain your eyes to see anything worth caring about, and even then that's near the edge of the frame. Unless you routinely shoot test grids, I really wouldn't worry but that said, as I understand it, the distortion correction should get rid of any such effect.
