x socket problem

Pentax K7 while attempting to use a Flashmaster studio lighting system, the K7 will not fire the flash system using the x socket and cord with a Wein safe synch. Change out to the old reliable ME Super and the flashmaster system fires every time using the same cord.
Use the V285 flash w/ cord to x socket and and the k7 will fire the flash every time.
Why will the K7 not fire the flashmaster?????? Help!

Most likely is because the polarity is wrong.
Switch the leads.

Occam's Razor strikes again! Reversed the household plug for the synch cord extension and it works fine. TYVM----> Vamountainman
