I mean for 150 frames for RAW it's not worth it, I shoot mostly RAW and I can make 150 frames in one day in Kew gardens...
I'm not using the flash, which might account for some of it.
I also turn off the LCD automatic-review. I do, however, go through and rotate all portrait-orientation pictures on the camera itself (due to an annoying defect in my workflow that I really ought to fix). And that's clearly a waste of power.
Note that Dave says 100-150
fewer with RAW, so something like 500 frames. Even then, I'm a bit surprised that the difference is so significant for RAW files. I'd think they'd be
less work for the camera, and it seems odd that writing to the memory card would account for that much of the power draw. (If so, brand of SD card used may make a huge difference here.)
