What about fps? A clear win for the K-x no doubt. Some might say the size of the K-x is an advantage. I say if you can't carry a 645D and 100mm lens around your neck for eight hours then you're a little wimp. Bigger is better for real men OTOH, what colours does the 645D come in? If I can't get beige then I may have to go with the K-x.

Yeah, nothing said PRO for me like that big-mutha old Graflex 9x12 hanging around my neck. With the big-mutha flash reflector. And the big-mutha black shoulder bag full of flashbulbs, film packs, Mars bars, Everclear flasks, etc. And the big-mutha unfiltered Pall-Mall hanging off my lip. Yup, size matters.

If I use a 100mm 645D lens on my K-x, will it be like 600mm?

I'd get a 645D if it came in red with blue grip.

what, no colors? guess I'll stick to the K-x

You all think so old school, size matters but in cameras like the spy world smaller is better That way your hands cramp-up and hold the shutter button down, that is the only way you can take 5k frames at a wedding over 4 hours!!! And can you imagine asking the priest to set-up studio lights in the cathedral for the wedding, nothing says holy mass like 20,000 watts of pure white tungsten! Plus, you NEED like 3 bodies for all the primes... can you imagine 645+28, plus 645+50, plus 645+200, and you just gotta have an old film body too, for the experience of shooting in film... much easier with a MX, K10Dx2 and a KX... THAT's how you look pro... oh and the greasy backwards ball cap and ripped jeans, it says artist!

There's only one right answer to this question; Sell the car, a kidney, whatever, and buy a 645D. It would be crazy for me to buy one, but i sure would like to try one out.

One word: RENTAL.

OK, a few more words. BEG. BORROW. STEAL. Of course you'll have to go to Japan to get one. So, move to Tokyo. Rent an office. Start up an English-language photo tech journal. Solicit models from all camera makers for evaluation. Solicit models on the steet too, but don't get caught. Anyway, make sure you get a 645D to run through the wringer. Then leave. You came on a phony passport, right? Excellent.

Travel'D 645D

I am willing to say I would be HAPPY to start the official Well Travel'D 645D group... I will be more than happy to pay shipping to the next forum member on the list after using the camera that a very generous forum member (Anyone?) is going to donate! Would be willing to ship over seas too!

After having lugged around a 4.7 kg assault rifle and a backpack weighing roughly10 - 15 kg, depending on how much water I've drunk, while also running in zig - zags as we simulate enemy contact, I don't think a 645D around my neck should pose to much of a problem .

alehel... That's nothing... first time you face a bridezilla facing off against her new mother-in-law well the groom is off drunk in a corner you will wish you signed up for a tour of duty at least you'd have your rifle to shut them up.

I only did my national service, which we still have here in Norway, so I never actually got shipped off for combat anywhere, but I might change my mind if I ever do get married :-P

I'm not going to decide until I see the DXOMark score for the 645D. The K-x scored pretty high, it will be hard to beat.

Hey, I have been away from the computer for a while. Glad I was because some of the responses have been down right funny and it was a pleasure to read them. Thanks to you all for rolling with this.
