Originally posted by j.mbwun Hi there,
Anyway, after reconfigure it, I clicked "Fn" button and saw
something different in the navigation menu.
At the "UP arrow" that selects shooting mode the rectangle is always colored green, as well as the letters "AWB" from the "LEFT arrow" which selects white balance.
The thing is that I can access the shooting mode submenu by pressing the
up arrow button but I CAN NOT access the "AWB" submenu. I pressed
left arrow and nothing happened. I try to get this functionality through another
option via "MENU" and there is none.
I wonder is this is correct, and in such case, how am I going to select
the white balance from now on?

In PICT modes or Autopict, most menu options are locked down. In earlier versions of the firmware, the camera allowed you to access these options, and make setting changes, but the camera ignored the changes you made. So you thought you were changing settings and in reality you were not. It was causing a lot of confusion. In one of the later firmware upgrades, I forget which one specifically, Pentax greyed out all options you can not set for the given mode you are in. So if you are in Autopict, for example, most options on the record menu will be greyed out. Also, Fn menu items will be locked out.
Hope this helps some.
