Thanx. I didn't ask it correctly, but that's what I was wondering. I saw some screens, but didn't notice any that had the split screen; it must have, I just didn't notice it. Yep, when I saw those screens 1st thought was wondering about manual focus. Thanx for the details.

Don't quite understand you, but the sifs have a at least a circle in the center.

Just last week I received and installed a Katz Eye focusing screen in my K10D. What a world of difference it has made! One of the main reasons I switched from Canon to Pentax was the ability to use old (cheap, more character) manual focus lenses. The K10D's stock focusing screen is pretty good for manual focus, but the Katz Eye is so much better. I've read threads about exposure miscalculations with certain lenses. I've noticed a bit of difference with a couple of my lenses, but it is no big deal to me. I just check the histogram and adjust. Easy. I ordered the K10D Katz Eye with split prism, pano grid lines (for assisting with level horizons), and the optibrite option. Since installing the Katz Eye, I haven't used auto focus on any of my auto focus lenses (aside from testing). Manual focusing just feels so much better. No more focusing errors either.

Instruction Book

Hi, you ask about a good book for using K10d
I highly recommend
"K10D.Everything you need to know ......... and then some." by Yvon Bourque.
This is written in very easy to understand instructions with comprehensive illustrations. I highly recomend it,
All the best with your new camera,I am sure you will come to love it, as we all do!!
