K10D Mirror Jam

I have a K10D, recently the mirror is jammed, When i press the shutter button, the mirror didn't move. I tried the sensor cleaning under setup menu, the mirror didn't move as well. I guess there might be something wrong with the mirror mechanism. Does any one know to fix this? Do I need to send it for repair? If so, what's estimate cost? Thanx

Just a few thoughts:

1) Do you have the battery grip? I've experienced some odd behaviour from my K10D, though never the mirror locking up, and removing and replacing the grip always cleared it up.

2) Have you tried a different battery?

3) Try turning the camera on with no battery in it.

I've no idea if any of this will work, but it's the kind of things I'd try in your situation.

Also try removing the battery from the camera overnight. That forces a reset of the top system items, and might help.

After comparing to the K-x. I think the problem was on the mirror actuator misalignment. I think it can only be fix by a repair shop. Hope this is not expensive.
