Woohoo, finally got a K20D

I've been otherwise very happy with my K10D but it's low light performance has left me wanting better. Apparently ISO 1600 on the K20D is at least as good as ISO 800 on the K10D so one extra stop is gained. Another feature of the K20D that got my attention is the possibility to tailor the AF focus precisely for each lens.

I found a K20D locally for 350 euros and it comes with an extra battery + remote. Only has 3500 actuations so almost pristine. Not a steal but a very good price IMO.

Now I'll have no problem with skipping both the KX and K7D and waiting for whatever is around the corner.

Got one; congratulations

I'm also wanting one, simply for the AF adjustment options. But I can wait and maybe the prices at this side of the world will eventually drop. Still US$1200 (conversion rate) or US$1500 (exchange rate) for a new one

Congrats! I love mine. I also plan to wait for whatever's around the corner--and maybe even the corner after that.

sterretje: Wow, incredibly high prices...strange even, as I've seen new ones go for 750 USD on the evilbay.

RubyT: depends also a bit on the distance between the corners if the first one is a year from now, then I maybe won't have the patience to wait for the one after that

Congratulation. I just did the jump from K10D to a K20D and I love it. I am keeping my K10D also as a back up. Let see what is in the future for us from Pentax! And while we wait, K20D is good enought for my needs and hope for yours too.

Congrats, If you are like me I think you will find that there is more than one stop differencebetween high ISO performance of the K10 and K20. My "real world" experience suggests at least 2 stops between the two. From what I understand the K20 is better than the K-7 but not quite as good as the K-x.

Congrats, i really like my K20. There are a lot of posters who prefer its sensor to that of the Kx - different horses for different courses i guess.

Congrats...I'm looking to upgrade from my 6 year old Samsung Gx-1S to a k20d sometime soon. I've been tempted by many that I've seen being sold secondhand on this site. Just have to sell some lenses!

Glad I got my K20D several months ago, @ $615. They're actually selling for over $100 more than that now! What's up with the price increase?

Well, you get my pat! Great choice of camera. BTW, I was delighted to pay the $1300 the K20d cost me when it came out 2 years ago. 2 years have past, & I have no desire for any other body. How many bodies can you say that about???

That is a great price, in the UK you'd be lucky to find any K20 under £400 - 455 Euro - $609.

I'll be a happy camper when I find a bargain like that

Also got my k20d today . Massive improvement over the k100d. Sad, but very expensive here... 600$ secondhand.
