Given updates seem to come in 18 months, you should be good for another 8 or so before you feel inadequate with your K-7. ;-)

I'm very glad I bought a DSLR before the trip. Have been getting some great shots that I couldn't have gotten with my other cameras such as high FPS (capturing my kids mid-air as they jump into their mother's arms in the pool), shallow DOF (available-light shot at night of Buddha in focus with nice bokeh of family dining in the background) etc...

Am loving the stormtrooper K-x... I can see it being a favourite even after I get the K-7 replacement. For a box of electronics, it's got bags of personality.
