No Chinese KX split screens?

I decided against the ridiculous cost of the Katz based on past threads, but can't find any Chinese/Korean/Whatever options for the KX on eBay.

Has anyone done this yet to the KX that wasn't Katz? Or does one of the other models work fine for this, but these guys just haven't updated their listings yet?

There are ones on ebay, I think (the so-so Chinese ones, cost 25 or so bucks last time I checked) and there is one from FocusingScreen.com (a better quality Chinese, costs range from 40 to 80 + shipping from Hong Kong). In fact, I have one made from Nikon K3 screen (made by Focusingscreen.com, same as KatzEye, it seems) with Rule of Thirds markings, and I am about to sell it with the camera because I am switching to K-7. If you're any interested, send me a pm

jinfinance on ebay has a large selection including diagonal and dual diagonal for $27-31. Look in their store inventory. I think theirs are made from the K1000 and claimed to be the correct thickness versus some others.

Focusing Screen is a Taiwan company that does very good screens. I had got some from them and they are better than those from ebay.

The FLS (now discontinued), a 45 degree split screen and the K3, a Nikon screen, is very good, but the split is horizontal and not 45 degrees.

I am planning to get one for my K7 soon and they do have for the K-x, K10D/K20D, and the rest of the DSLRs too.

Just buy one for K100D or K200D. They have the same focusing screen as the K-x.

You can even put a K20D/K10D screen in a K-x 'cause it has a flat screen holder, just be careful to put the screen at the center.

Reading troughout the forum i came to quite a few post saying that the screen of the K200d, K100 K-M and K-X are the same and so i've ordered a "chinese" split focus screen (the double 45 split) for the K100/200d/K-M.
I suppose by the next week it should be here in my hand (the screen leaved HK on the 22).
If you're not in a hurry and are unsure if it'll fit or it's really the same screen then you could wait till it's delivered to me

Thanks, guys. Didn't know about the cross-compatibility, and none of these sites updated to include KX.

Money's burning a hole in my pocket and my focus has been pitiful.

I'm just nervous about this "blackout" factor I keep reading about.

What's the difference between FSB and FSX? Just the size? And look at all those OTHER types.

I better study this a bit.

The blackout is no different than with the film cameras. Medium light usually gives you to f5.6, sometimes f8.
My ME Super screen I cut down will go to f22 in strong daylight.

I can't figure out that KX chart. I would rather spend $40 than $80, so call me crazy.

I'd rather spend $10.00 than $40.00. That's why I make my own.

Ira,

If you look closely enough, it is just the size of the centre circle and prism.
I am still deciding on the FSB/FSX/K3 though . . .

I'll go back and look, but what's the K3 about? And as a nearsighted 53-year-old fart, am I better off with the larger circle? My close-up version is perfect.
